Restoring coral reefs

As Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire, we participate in the Reef Renewal Bonaire project. Its aim is to restore and protect coral reefs on Bonaire. The Reef Renewal Bonaire project does this by placing frames in the sea. Through the frames, pieces of coral are raised and returned to the sea. You can also find these coral frames at our own house reef right in front of our Plaza beach. Because we consider coral reef protection incredibly important, our Toucan Diving dive instructors are also certified to train other instructors for the Reef Renewal Project to protect even more coral reefs.
